I loved this light, however, I purchased it in May 2021 and it stopped working in July 2022. The warranty has expired. I always made sure that the solar panels were kept clean and I never left it out when raining. This was an expensive purchase for me. I strongly suggest that you purchase the extended warranty in the event you have issues after the warranty expiresSo if you always wanted to have a self standing street lamp for somewhere in the yard, this may be your choice. But it better be where you can't get regular power and a normal lamp, because this one will not do much more than a 30w light bulb equivalent will provide. It is built well of metal and will solidly be attached to a your base of choice. But so far as illuminating anything, look elsewhere. It is just a nice well made decorative lamp that illuminates okay-ish. The charge is strong enough to have it still on at 6am, and this is under oak trees with lots of shade, so good performance there. My photo was made with my android in night shot mode so the illumination is great in the pic than what it is in reality.Outdoor lights but lights are almost outReceived in good condition on 12/1/15. Was packaged well. Everything in one box then that place in another and when Amazon shipped it the manufacturers box was placed in a third one. Some people have dug holes and filled with cement then anchored lamp post to that. One reviewer talked about gluing two cement patio blocks together, drilling through them and putting in bolts that were different then the ones the lamp was shipped with. This was a good idea.I did mine slightly differently. I used one 16"x16"x2.25" patio cement block. I drilled through it and put in the expandable screws shipped with the lamp. Then I put some of the driveway gravel over the block. We live on the Oregon cost where winter storms get to well over 100 MPH. We live in a fairly sheltered area but still get strong winds. In the past, we have had large bushes pulled from the ground. Thus far post/lamp has withstood a strong, rainy and windy (up to 65 MPH wind gusts) storm and still stands. It has been lighting in the evening and stopping in the morning and this is with NO sunlight only cloudy stormy weather. The light is not very bright as mentioned by others. But I can't really comment until we actually have a sunny day to see when the light gets a full charge. We don't use it to actually light up an area anyway. Ours is placed at the driveway entrance to more easily see where it begins. And, it does not blind you when turning into the driveway or interfere with anyone driving by.I noted that when the actual lamp was removed from the box and turned on that the light was very bright in the house much more than it currently is. There again, it needs direct sunlight to charge. I will update this review if anything occurs either positive or negative.Update Jan 4, 2016. Very satisfied thus far. It has withstood several high wind storms and is performing very well. During a two week period of rain and no sunlight penetrating the clouds, the light still came on at night. When we have sunny or partly sunny days, the light is quite bright when it turns on. It lights an area approximately thirty feet in radius. It does dim a little by sunrise but is easily seen. Also, it is bright enough to see what is on the ground without being too bright to interfere with seeing things on the opposite side of the light. The only negative is that I have to move at least fifty feet away from the light in order to see the stars for the area I used to view them from is now too bright.took less than 15 minutes to installDecent product...we bolted our's to a concrete "anchor" we made by digging a 12" deep hole in the ground and filling it with concrete we mixed up from a bag of "sacrete" we acquired from our local home supply store. After the concrete had been given a couple of days to harden, we bolted the lamp post base to the concrete using the 3 anchors that came with the lamp. In hindsight, mounting thelamp to the decking of the sundeck would've been considerably easier, but this was a Mother's Day gift, and our mother wanted the lamp in her front yard. The lamp pole itself appears to be leaning slightly, but we were able to determine that it's the pole itself that's leaning, and not the base (a level laid across the base in 2 directions, verified the surface of the concrete was indeed "level"). The actual light doesn't put off as much light as we had hoped, but again, it was more of a "yard decoration" for our mother (as opposed to a light source), so she was "ok" with the fairly "dim" light. All in all, we were quite satisfied with the lamp, though it would be nice if the actual lamp was a little brighter. Installation was a little more involved because we chose to mount it in the yard (instead of on the sundeck), and it would be nice if there had been more consideration given to that option. I mean they DIDprovide the screws & anchors necessary to mount it to concrete, but unless you did what we did, it really wouldn't be possible to mount in in the yard. I suppose something like long "gutter nails" perhaps could've been also been used to anchor it the ground, but I don't know how well they would've held it in place - especially in a high wind situation. Bottom line? If you're looking for a light source - especially to light up a really dark area, this product probably isn't what you're looking. But if you're looking for a classy looking piece of yard decoration, this isn't a bad choice at all.Got this as a xmas gift it is amazing hardly no sun this winter still came on. We loved it so much bought recently another for our backyard LOVE it. We put them attached to a cement square block you buy like at home depot smooth sides works great you can move to different location in the yard and hard for someone to steal. We bought one for our sons family for xmas they love theirs also GREAT price and sellerAbsolutely love this street light…. Stays lit from dusk to dawn.We installed the lamp in our front flower bed in spring/summer of 2016 . Looked great and other than not being as bright as we had hoped it worked fine until this spring. Did not seem to charge any longer so I thought it must be the rechargeable batteries that were the issue. Replaced them and it still would not light. Looked closer and discovered that the top cover was not sealed properly and had allowed moisture to seep in and corrode the circuit board. If these are meant to be an outdoor all weather lamp then better care should have been taken in making it weather tight! Very disappointed! :(Solar post lights are not easy to find where I live, and the ones you can buy locally were expensive. These might not be the top of the line models, but they look great at the end of our path. The quality is excellent for the price. We used anchors and mounted them to concrete sidewalk blocks, which worked great. They’re not too bright, which is good for us as we didn’t want too much light shining in the window at night, but they definitely brighten up the path to the front door. The LEDs are a bright white colour, and my only complaint is I wish they were a warm white instead.Very nice and bright at night and is still on in the morning, this also adds as a beautiful accent to your property during the day. I would of gave 5 stars but this item was not the same as described or looked anything like the photo's in the ad. Was very easy to install to a cement paver with the cement screws that came with the light kit, also has wood screws if that is your preference for anchoring. The stand is heavy which is a good thing. The glass topper looks sturdy. I only recently put the lamp together and am charging it today. I noticed that there are four (4) rechargeable battery compartments, of which two of these say no batteries. The other two have two batteries in one compartment and one battery in the second compartment. SO I am confused as to why there are four double rechargeable battery compartments and only three batteries in total. Will this affect the duration of the charge for this lamp? I have no idea but it makes me wonder what is the reasoning behind this? If anyone knows please comment.I didn’t want a plastic product. This aluminum product screws together easily and the light is warm and bold. It lights our patio area. We put together and installed two in under 30 min. We threaded ours over a T bar hammered into the ground.Delighted with this product so far.
