I got this light to use on my dock at night. Shrimp eyes fluoresce under green and red light, making them very easy to spot in the grass and surrounding areas. The green light doesn't seem to spook the fish or crabs, so that is an added bonus.The light comes with everything needed for a traditional mounting manner. I wanted to be able to take my light inside in the case of a hurricane or bad storm, so I mounted a short length of PVC vertically on a piling. I got a piece of pipe that is a step down in diameter to the piece mounted on the piling, so it would slide inside the fixed-mounted piece, making my light portable and removable. If I remember correctly, it is 1 1/4" that slides into the mount for the light, and the piece on the piling is 1 1/2"; if you are thinking of doing this mounting system, measure the OD of the mounting tubing (tubing is measured OD; pipe is measured ID) that comes with the light.The only thing I wish is that the sensor for the remote would be on the back or side (or all the way around), so I could use the remote when the light is on my dock. The sensor is on the part of the housing where the light is, which is facing down and is accessible when the light is mounted on a wall or building, but it is out of line-of-sight for the remote when the light is on the dock hanging over the water.
